If you’re like me a granola bar was an essential part of your diet throughout your twenties. It wasn’t until I started paying more attention to my health after having kids that I realized how ridiculously unhealthy prepackaged granola bars are for you. They contain a ton of preservatives and very high amounts of sugar. So, I’ve been on the hunt for a healthy, easy homemade granola bar recipe that didn’t contain a ridiculous amount of sugar and think i’ve finally found the perfect one! It has only 5 ingredients and takes about 5 minutes to make, seriously they are so easy to make.
I promise you will love this healthy and quick granola bar!
QUICK & HEALTHY GRANOLA BARS
1 cup rolled oats
1/4 cup sunbutter
1/2 cup salba chia seeds
3 Tb honey
small amount of chocolate chips (we use Enjoy Life) or other mix in
Stir all ingredients together in a bowl until they are thoroughly mixed. Place mixture on a parchment paper lined baking sheet and flatten mixture until it is at your desired thickness. Then place in the freezer for at least 1 hour until bars are solid. Remove from freezer and cut into bar shapes. Eat and enjoy!
