The very last room in our ‘forever home’ to be renovated is my office. It’s been sitting for a year and a half in a complete disarray mostly due to my messy work style, but also because we were focused on the main living areas and bedrooms first. I’m SO happy and relieved that this room is finally complete. It’s in the center of our home upstairs and was a complete eye sore for the longest time.

The Novogratz were nice enough to send me the futon and rug so I based my decor around those. The Futon is amazing! It’s the perfect size couch for an office/extra bedroom and it’s pretty comfortable for a futon. We can’t wait to have our first overnight guests in the new space next week to try it out.

I chose to get the rug in an 8×10 which is perfect for my office since it’s a pretty large space. It adds a nice, cozy feel to the office and my kids have really enjoyed laying on the floor reading books or coloring while I work.

In our new house I have the strong desire to not overcrowd our walls so I’ve really been taking my time picking out the perfect pieces to hang. The yarn wall hanging is one of my absolute favorite pieces that was custom made by Those Indie Mommies. I’m obsessed with their entire shop! The letter board is an awesome $10 find from Wal-Mart and the smaller, quote piece is from Sweetie and Roo and is such a great reminder to peek at everyday.

I found this little side table forever ago at Target and was happy to find a spot for it in my new office. The succulent letter is from Little Sparrow Bows. It can be hung on the wall (which was my original plan) but I loved the look of it on the table, and since it is a sturdy piece it has no trouble standing up on its own.

As a work from home mom I needed to find a space in my office to keep the boys busy while I work so I was beyond happy to find this little wooden table (I believe it’s actually from Ikea!) on the side of the road. I gave it a little paint job and it’s been the perfect spot for my little ones to sit and color at. I usually have a mother’s helper while I work but sometimes it’s nice to just take it easy at work with the boys. The rainbow stacking toy is from Sweet Whimsy Designs, we have several of her wooden toys and my boys just love them!

The other half of my office isn’t nearly as pretty, but the reality is that running a full time business is far from glamorous so with that, i’m sharing the photo of my desk. I actually have two desks in this room, the one below which is more for sitting and answering emails, listing products, editing photos etc… and the other one is for stamping jewelry and assembling. That one I will keep hidden because it’s really nothing special to look at. This desk is from Hayneedle and I really love it. It’s not one that I would have necessarily picked out for myself but I ended up winning it from a Facebook contest and when I saw it in person I absolutely fell in love with it. It has two drawers and a small shelf which is more than enough storage for the purpose of this desk. Luckily my office has a ton of storage space, there is a large walk in closet as well as a large bathroom that yes, I use for storage. The attic entrance is also in the office so we store extra supplies up there.

I LOVE the Ikea Raskog cart and actually have 2 of them to store office supplies in. I love that they can roll around the room as we need them too, and then I can push them into the closet when need to hide them. My favorite part about my office is the fact that it has a fireplace. When we were moving into our home I envisioned me and my employees working fireside, but that hasn’t happened….yet. Now that the office is completed I can definitely see that happening all winter long while working, and I can’t wait. In the meantime Pier 1 Imports has these glimmer string lights that work perfectly to create the ambiance of a fire without the actual fire. I’m going back to get more for each fireplace in our house!
