It’s hard to believe my little dude is almost 5! Since he’s been old enough to pick out his birthday themes (2 years now) he’s chosen dinosaurs. His love and excitement for them runs deep, but it leaves me needing to find new and fun ways to keep celebrating with the same theme. I was so excited to find the Oriental Trading Company this year! They have a huge assortment of party supplies for all ages and events.

With their help we were able to throw Blake an awesome dinosaur 5th birthday party. We always have a party at the park during a weekday (does anyone like weekend birthday parties??), but since his friends are all headed to Kindergarten this year we had to have the party a month early. Unfortunately for us the weather that day (in August) was freezing cold and rainy. But, his friends and their parents were troopers and all still came out to celebrate under the pavilion with us. The kids had a blast and ran around in the rain. We had to improvise a bit and pack some art supplies and board games to keep the kids under the pavilion during the heaviest rains. Because of the weather it was almost impossible to get great photos of the party decor so in true toddler fashion we celebrated his birthday again the next day during the nice weather with a few other friends who couldn’t make it the day before.
