5 Baby Beach & Pool Bag Essentials

Mother’s Day is the official start to our camping trips where we make it our mission to live at the beach and pool for as much of the summer as we can. Over the years the amount of items we’ve packed has ranged from minimal to cramming what seems like our entire house into the camper but recently we like to think we’ve really perfected what we pack and as a result our lives and trips have been much less stressful.

So! Let’s get right to it, here are our 5 beach and pool bag essentials when traveling with the kids:

1. A change of clothes- I always keep an extra set of clothes for each child in my car but for pool and beach trips we pack a bag that includes a change of clothes for each of them. Driving home in wet bathing suits makes for cranky babies. I pick something comfy for them to change into because I am a comfy clothes kind of mom 😉

2. Diapers and wipes- If you’re out of the diaper stage then lucky you, but if not you know it’s always the time that you forget the wipes or the diapers that the biggest blowouts happen.

3. Hand Sanitizer- This is a must for those diaper changes (see above!) and before eating and snacking. I also use wipes to wipe off the kid’s hands before eating especially when we are at the beach and they are covered in sand.

4. Baby Soap- We use JOHNSON’S® baby HEAD-TO-TOE® which is an ultra mild cleanser and perfect for washing off all of the chlorine after the pool and sand after the beach. I keep a big pump bottle in my bag because undoubtedly we will use it all this summer. Another good option is our favorite JOHNSON’S® baby BEDTIME® which smells like lavender and is clinically proven to improve sleep-nothing sounds better than sleep after a long day at the pool or beach.

5. Lotion- Our go to is another pump bottle from JOHNSON’S® baby BEDTIME® lotion. If you’re like me your hands can never not have lotion on them, that’s just the weirdest feeling to me the in between swimming and lotion stage. Eek!
