Here are our top 10 things to do in Rehoboth Beach:
1. The Beach
With what seems like endless miles of coastline Rebohoth Beach has many amazing spots to enjoy the beach at. From secluded areas to those bursting with other beachgoers there is a spot for everyone. If you’re staying in the area it’s best to stay to the West of Route 1, almost all houses and hotels to the West are within walking or biking distance to the beach areas. Our kids spent hours playing with their beach toys in the sand. If you’re looking for the perfect beach canopy or tent, we’ve been using this one for years and it’s so easy to set up, lightweight for carrying and very affordable. I love teling everyone about it, it’s awesome!
Our favorite beach gear:
2. Rehoboth Boardwalk
The boardwalk is perhaps the most popular attraction in the town. Lined with arcades, shops and restaurants it’s 1 mile full of fun and food! You will find everything from mini golf, boardwalk pizza and fries to charming little boutique shops. The boardwalk is also a great place to relax and take in the beautiful ocean views at. Another one of our favorite East Coast boardwalks is located at Point Pleasant, NJ, click here to read more about it.
3. Cape Henlopen
Did you know you can take a ferry (car or passanger) from Rehoboth Beach to Cape May, New Jersey? It’s true! We drove to the Ferry station just to see the boats and were pleasantly surprised to find a restaurant and amazing playground right on the water for the kids to play at. It is just a short drive from the center of Rehoboth and well worth a visit. Just a few hundred feet down the road is the entrance to the Cape Henlopen State Park where you can enjoy beach access, hiking trails and camping.
4. Indian River Marina
The Indian River Marina is located at the northern end of the Delaware Seashore State Park. It is said to have some of the best fishing in the area and offers many options from full and half day fishing charters as well as boat rentals.
5. Dogfish Brewing & Eats
What started in 1995 as the smallest batch commercial brewer has grown into a National brand best known for its unique ales and great food in Rehoboth. Dogfish even offers free beer samples in their restaurant but you’ll no doubt want to stay for their food after your samples. Check their website for their event calendar.
6. Tanger Outlets
We don’t usually shop while on vacation but it is hard to resist the deals at Tanger Outlets. We were especially pleased to snag 70% off most items at the Columbia Outlet! This is the perfect thing to do during a rainy day in Rehoboth.
7. Jungle Jim’s
Jungle Jim’s is Delaware’s largest waterpark. They offer everything from a wave pool, kids splash pad and lazy river. All ages are welcome. Their water slides also look insanely fun! We went in the off season but can’t wait to return and visit when they are open for the summer.
8. Funland
Although Funland is located on the Rehoboth Boardwalk this deserves a spot of it’s own on our list. They offer a variety of rides and games under a covered roof so this is another great activity to add to your rainy day Rehoboth list. Not all rides are under cover though, they offer several larger amusement park style rides and my favorite part is seeing how it looks like they are in someone’s backyard. I can’t get over how much fun that must be to look at your window and see an amusement park in your backyard!
9. East Some Thrasher’s Fries
One of the best, if not the best boardwalk fries you’ll ever taste! It’s impossible to walk down the boardwalk and not smell their deliciousness. They have several locations on the boardwalk and main street in Rehoboth. One thing to note is that they are fried in peanut oil, so if you’re allergic just be aware.
10. Eat at Grotto’s Pizza
They are best known for their swirl sauce pizzas and aren’t your typical boardwalk pizza but they are delicious in their own right. If you’re allergic to nuts be aware that they do fry their french fries in peanut oil but we felt comfortable eating their pizza after talking it over with the chef.
I also want to point out how dog-friendly Rehoboth is. We saw countless dogs and most businesses had signs allowing animals inside as well as water bowls outside. This is definitely a place you can feel comfortable bringing your 4 legged family members to!

That is our top 10 list of things to do in Rehoboth Beach but there are so many more amazing memories to be made there for you and your family. Rehoboth is the type of welcoming place you’ll want to visit over and over again. In fact, we plan to visit again soon. On this trip we traveled from New Jersey to Rehoboth quite comfortably thanks to Mitsubishi Motors. We drove the Mitsubishi Outlander XLE and only spent $23 (yes, you read that right!) in fuel. This is definitely our pick for a road trip car. It even has a third row and can fit up to 7 people. The car we drove came equipped with heated seats and a sunroof which are the perfect combination for a road trip. The car easily fit our two car seats in the middle row and we had plenty of space for all of our luggage. I really cannot recommend this car enough, especially with the amazing gas mileage it gets!
